New 6-Week Bike Focus Plan for 2019 [Coach Video]

This is for all ability levels; the Bike Focus plan is a chance to target the bike between races / in place of an extended build up for a Race (as defined by being more than 12 weeks long). The Bike Focus Training Plan was created to provide TeamEN athletes with a 6 week long tool to significantly boost their cycling power and speed. 


In general, intensity targets are:

  • Tuesday rides at 150% of FTP or higher;
  • Thursday rides at 120% to 140% of FTP.
  • Coach*EN level athletes will get specific guidance from Coach.


The Bike Focus plan includes up to 4 cycling sessions per week, with tests included in weeks 1 and 6 of the plan. The plan also includes 3 runs per week, just enough to maintain your running frequency as you focus on improving your cycling speed. 


No swims are scheduled in the Bike Focus training plan, but you can add the Swim Supplement to it if required.
