Power - Indoor vs Outdoor; Tribike vs Roadbike
I know we've discussed this before, thought there might be a fresh look at it with so many people riding Zwift now.
I am curious as to what most people feel are the observed differences in their power(FTP) numbers on the same bike when ridden on a trainer vs outdoors as well as the differences between their roadbike & tribike in a static situation (EG, power on one vs the other on the trainer, or one vs the other outdoors)
also, if a meaningful difference do any WSMs adjust their TSS in TP for a particular workout to reflect that?

@scott dinhofer I think the other variable to note is aero position or sitting up in the tri bike inside / outside.
After 5 or 6 OSs and IM training builds, switching between road and tri bikes, here's what I've found.
- Road bike outside FTP ~10 watts higher than inside. Same for tri bike in aero position.
- Road bike FTP always higher that tri bike outside and I side.
My bottom line has evolved to test how you'll race/train. That means in OS test how I plan to do my training (e.g. tri bike sitting up). During IM/HIM build, test outside on tri bike in aero position.
I do not adjust TSS/FTP between in/outside riding.
@scott dinhofer - I have been training indoors on my trainer at a FTP of 273, on my old P3. Yesterday, I on my P5 I did a 40K TT and my FTP was 264Np and 260 AVP (very flat).
Like Derrek - I don't adjust TSS/FTP between in/outside riding. BUT, regardless of TSS on training plan, I stop at 2.5 hrs on the indoor trainer.
