SEMINAR - Training and Racing to Not Slow Down

If you haven't listened to this yet take a moment and tune in. Practical tips. I listed a few take aways but there is a ton more info in the audio.

Al -

  • Starting the run - 'if you can hear yourself breathing you're going to fast'.
  • RPE should go up as the marathon progresses
  • Find your pace early and hold it, don't slow down
  • Instead of embracing the suck , do mental Jujutsu ... generate power
  • You don't know your limits until you go pass them.

Jeremy Behler

  • Race rehearsals - plan nutrition and test it on hour run. You will know within 60 min id its not working.
  • If you think you're going too fast than you are.

Mike Roberts -

  • Need bike fitness to have a good second half of run
  • Lock in top end of Zone 2
  • Do training sessions that suck 🤮

Derreck Sanks

  • Likes to run off pace
  • Off the bike start with HR from last hour of bike
  • Know your sweat rate
