A New EN Zwift Ride - All That’s Missing is You!
Hi All! With the assistance of @Coach Patrick I am looking to start a new EN team ride in Zwift. To do that, I need a few like-minded individuals to help me lead it. Here’s the skinny:
- We are calling the ride the honey badger ride.
- The ride will typically be a three lap format, with two laps between 2-2.5 w/kg as a good warmup with the ride leader.
- Lap three we unleash the inner honey badger and attack!
- The leader maintains the pace for two laps and herds the ride. He or she then gives the word to attack.
- This ride will be scheduled for 6:15 Eastern on Wednesday. I plan to lead as much as possible but could use a couple of folks who would be willing to step in if I can’t be there.
If interested, please respond to this thread. This format is pretty darn fun AND doesn’t require you to start in z11! Are you ready to help make this ride come to life?

AM or PM?
AM @Al Truscott. I read that post I don’t know how many times and still missed that. Thanks!
Are the rides going to all be in Richmond?
@Robert Sabo you know my deep love of Richmond, but unfortunately the course doesn’t setup well for this ride design (or really any in my opinion, there, I couldn’t NOT take the bait). We have identified a few Watopia courses and a London course that looks good, though I’m always open to suggestions. All we need is a brave soul or two!
My problem with 6:15 AM on weekdays is it makes me late for work. looks like a "fun" ride!
I could help out if it were a wee bit earlier on Wed like 5:15 but that is bad for the west coast crowd I think. I have to be at work at 7 on Wed.
Thanks for the thought @Brian Hagan and @Ralph Moore. The thought on the timing was to accommodate a few time zones as well as the fact that there seems to be a gap in available rides/races from 6:05-6:40. Oh, and I’m on central time so 5:15 sounds about right to me!
Anyone else interested in helping @Scott Giljum Out with this new ride? Leading is a ton of fun and is a great way to get connected in the greater EN and Zwift communities!
