New bike shoes

Anyone tried the new Shimano TR901? I’m between that and the Specialized S Works. But very open to suggestions.

Thank you!

  • Hey Kyle - I don't know much about the shimano, but I have 3 pairs of the Sworks 7.0? first one I wore just felt like a shoe, whereas all of my other shoes always felt like ridged plastic shoes (Sidi mostly) - I have a 2 pairs of road shoes and one MTB.. they rock!

  • All specialized all the time!

  • Hey @Kyle Kolquist , unfortunately I don't. I use Bontrager XXX for road shoe. For tri shoe, I use the Pearl Izumi Tri Fly Pro V3.

Let me know if you pull the trigger on the Shimanos and if you like them.

  • Hey Kyle - I prefer the boa dials over the velcro. I feel I can get the shoe more secure than velcro and its just as fast to cinch/adjust. I typically use a road shoe for most of my triathlon racing. FWIW.

  • I use the S-Works (have 5.0 and 7.0) and I have the S-Works Trivents. I'll be racing my Ironman this yr in the 7.0 road shoes. The 7.0 now comes in a wide width which gives me more room in the toe box during LC racing where my feet swell after ~4+ hours.
