Wahoo Climb: Is it worth it?

I have been thinking about adding a Wahoo Climb to the pain cave but I have never tried it before. Been looking around LBS and I can't find one to test drive.

For those who have it or have used it, what's your overall experience? Worth it? Over rated?

Appreciate your thoughts.

  • I have a ton of gadgets but I thought it was kind of ridiculous and a bit expensive. My wife surprised me with one for Christmas so I set it up and tried it. It's actually pretty fun. It connects to the Kicker via bluetooth and gets elevation data from Zwift (and other programs). It's plug and play, right out of the box. Super smooth, quiet and just works.

In the end it adds a little more fun to the trainer workouts. I'm impressed and a convert after a lot of skepticism.

  • @Jorge Duque I would echo what @Tom Glynn said. I've had the KICKR for a year and enjoy it. It works very well, syncs quickly, and is a fun accessory. I got mine with the team group order last year, so it was 20% off.

The Climb adds a unique element to Zwift and it's nice to get out of the saddle when going up hill, like you would outside.

All that said, I do not think it will revolutionize your training.

  • @Tom Glynn @Jeff Phillips thanks for your input.

I spend more time in Zwift than in the real world, so after your words, I think this would be a nice addition to the pain cave.
