NOS Bike Week 11 - Same workouts at new numbers!
This week is where you get to do 2 x 18 min at that new FTP you got. Excited? Well you should be.
There are only 4 more weeks of the OS. Still lots of time to continue making FTP gains.
My first interval was solid and I was feeling pretty good. The hear rate recovered nicely between intervals and I started off well on the second interval and while trying to make a turn on my companion app, I skilled the last 17 min of the second interval. I went hard for the 5 min cool down as Zwift screamed at me do decrease my power but it ruined me mentally and I could not keep it going. Meh, Try again Thursday. Hope all of you have better luck.

Note the difference in the smoothness of the two intervals above. The first is on ERG mode where the trainer controls the resistance, the second is me trying to pedal steady without the help of the trainer.
And I fail on Erg mode again. This time, I was able to get the workout done but it tested my patience.
Notice e that the first interval is super smooth, Erg mode for the win. During the first recovery, I reached over to turn on a second fan and slowed my cadence. Erg mode got super hard to pedal and then switched out of ERG mode as I tried to speed my cadence back up. For the rest of the ride, I was trying to switch Erg mode back on while changing gears to get the interval posters correct. Unfortunately, I tore down my bike to lube the chain over the holidays and my shifting was a bit off so the first parts of the next few intervals represent me futzing with my shifting to get things going.
All that aside, I am calling it a moral victory because I got it done and still had a bit for a sprint at the end of the last interval.
