Tim Sullivan Official Coach Thread

Here's your personal Coach Thread, as promised. This is where you'll return to post all your "coach" questions as responses; I'll see them and reply. This first post is here to guide you through your first year on EN, so you can always come back here.

As you'll see in this forum, I handle all manner of edits and changes. So post away, know that I reply here usually M/W/F each week.

Power User Tip: Click the Star icon by the Title of this thread to subscribe, and you'll get email updates when I do reply.

  • Thanks! I agree with the sleep. I try to only wake up early Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday and the other days get a bunch of sleep. I've been good about that so far. Sounds good with the plans. I did start doing short runs mostly every day to get the frequency up so that's good. My HR seems good on the runs, and good on the bike until I get past the point I'm currently trained for. I think the longer base rides will help a bunch to get that HR better. I have also been trying to do some VASA most everyday (not much at this point) to get my strength and endurance up for the swim. I find it surprising how hard the VASA can be. It seems that I can also focus more on accelerating and hearing the change in power on the VASA much better than I can in the pool. I will certainly add pool swims later. See you on Zwift!
