What's the deep dark secret about endurance training that no one knows when they sign up?!

Just how long it's going to take you to figure out your nutrition.

Not just what you eat and drink when you train. What you do for recovery. How your fuel before your workouts. Or what you eat when you aren't working out. What you imagine eating when you are working out in your dreams. It's never ending.
