Brandon Gustafson Official Coach Thread [PlanEN]
Here's your personal Coach Thread, as promised. This is where you'll return to post all your "coach" questions as responses; I'll see them and reply. This first post is here to guide you through your first year on EN, so you can always come back here.
As you'll see in this forum, I handle all manner of edits and changes. So post away, know that I reply here usually M/W/F each week.
Power User Tip: Click the Star icon by the Title of this thread to subscribe, and you'll get email updates when I do reply.

Your Notes
Hi! I am a beginner, just starting out in triathlon. I did 1 sprint race, with no training enjoyed it and decided to get into the sport. I go to the gym 3-4 times a week. Since September of 2019 (after the sprint Tri), I was going swimming 2 days a week, to learn how to "actually" swim.Right now I am working on developing a training plan. I have been cycling 2-3 x week. Last Monday I did a 30 mile ride and am planning to do a 30-40 mile ride this Monday. In addition, I have been running easy 3-4 times per week (about 3 miles/ per run). I am trying to figure out a way to add in swimming and if the weather looks alright, I am planning to head to the lake.
Other than that, I have been using a some fitness apps (e.g., stretching).
Season Outline
These are your recommended training plans, including the date you should start each one (sometimes you won't complete a full plan but transition to another one). You can change your plans on Final Surge by clicking on Training Plans / My Plans. Learn more about each plan on the Training Plan Central Page.
