Gabe Gets Next Level (on a treadmill): 4/24 @ 7:30am PDT ‼️
Our crazy teammate and friend @Gabe Peterson is running a virtual 100-miler ON A TREADMILL to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (link). He starting this Friday (4/24) at approximately 7:30AM Pacific Time. He will be on Zwift, running the Big Foothills route.
His Zwift ID is “Gabe Peterson EN” so you can search for him using the Zwift Mobile Companion App. This way, on Friday / Saturday when you log in to Zwift to run, you can find Gabe in the list of active runners and choose “Run with Gabe” - this will drop you onto the road right next to him.
Don’t worry about paces! Gabe will be running a “mellow” 10:00-12:00/mile pace because, as he points out, “even that will hurt by mile 70.”
Looking to connect further? You can join our Discord server to talk with him (join here) and then click into the Gabe channel. Where you can talk to him using your phone (headphones are best). He will be checking in on Discord at the top of every hour, so anyone in any timezone will be able to do that math to give him some support.
This is Gabe's daughter Skye, inspiration for the run! 👍

@Dave Tallo you mean mind-blowing stupid
Go @Gabe Peterson .
I’ll jump in a couple times with you.
Finishing saturday approximately what time Pacific ?
@Patrick Large "This is the Way of the FT. We did not choose the Way, the Way chose us." 😉
@Dave Tallo before Covid, I would have never imagined doing 100 on the mill. Quarantine is a great motivator.
@robin sarner Awesome! See you out there!

@Al Truscott haha, I am worried about the same thing. My mill automatically stops at 99:59 because apparently the manufacturer thought nobody would run longer than that. I'll use that as time for a 3-5 minute aid station break but also to let the treadmill motor cool down.
Leading the way, so far, and yet not going anywhere. No matter where you go, there you are. For Skye !
