Laramie WY routes?

I'm in Laramie, WY this week and will have a day on my schedule for a ~3 hour ride.  (I have my bike with me.)  This is known as a mountain bike area, but does anyone know any good tri/road bike routes?

Thanks!

William

  • Yeah, that's my best bet if someone doesn't give me the local-knowledge rundown.
  • Check these guys out, Fine Edge Ski and Cycle, (they;re on 4th st) (307) 745-4499. This shop sponsers several pretty good road races from Laramie every summer. They should be able to point you in the right direction.  You can head out towards the Snowy Range and then back to town, pretty fun climbs/decents.  The wind in Laramie can really get crankin' in the afternoon.  Take water, there is NOTHING once you leave town.

  • Thanks Chuck. I have found a couple of good rides. I'm going to end up doing my HIM race rehearsal ride on the road out to Snowy Range (to Centennial, approximately), and have one or two other things figured out for my othrer, shorter days. I want to do the long ride in the morning if at all possible, but that's my return day - about 10 hour drive... have to figure out if that's really plausible. Otherwise, it'll be Friday afternoon instead of Sat a.m. and I'll just have to live with the wind. But I have already experienced it just walking around! Thanks a bunch!
