changing my workout plan

Good morning,

I was wondering if I should change my workout plan since Ironman Canada is cancelled and Ironman 70.3 Couer de Alene has been postponed to September 7. I want to keep my fitness level , but don't want to get hurt, as I am hoping to compete next year. Any thoughts? Linda Johnson

  • Hi @Linda Johnson , that is probably a good question for your coach forum or general training forum. Yes, you will probably want to adjust your training. @Coach Patrick did put out some good podcasts recently about adjusting training with race cancellations.


    Many teammates are shiting their training to a more out-season type program or a "get faster" program (for bike or run, based on strength of athlete).

    Another consideration would be to pick some big challenge to do on your original race date, or do a 140.6 on your own. @Peter Noyes has a website about Covid19man (an indoor 140.6). @Al Truscott is organizing a team competition to do a ~70.3 distance race on our own in August.
