[EN] Becoming Ultra (And An UltraMay Challenge Invitation)

Challenge from the camera, as you can see. The image at the top of this newsletter is a piece I call the “Eight Stages of a Virtual Everest” ride.

I’m not one to shy away from a challenge...or from the camera, as you can see. The image at the top of this week’s newsletter is a piece I call the “Eight Stages of a Virtual Everest” ride. To “Everest” is to ride the elevation of Mt Everest in a single session…in this case on the Alp du Zwift for 8.5 times across the course of 10.5 hours. I took a picture at the end of each ascent to capture my physical condition and mental state. I’ve captured a great deal of information on the ride an what it means to be one of just over 1200 folks on the planet to be dumb enough to do this ride. You can find it this week in our podcast and on the EN Blog (https://endurancenation.us16.list-manage.com/track/click?u=54dc221df5218e0dafff46b51&id=fbf69a1204&e=443f1a9157) .

I am posting this so you know I am a fan of walking the talk - if it’s UltraMay, dammit, I’m going to do something Ultra just like the rest of you (https://endurancenation.us16.list-manage.com/track/click?u=54dc221df5218e0dafff46b51&id=642b8be9ae&e=443f1a9157) . And I wanted to share out the steps so that you can tackle the challenge on your own. As a Team, we are committed to getting stronger and smarter together. If it’s not at the races, then it’s in our own epic adventures.

As you plan out your own adventure, be sure to check in with your teammates and capture everything you can. You never know who you might inspire!

Everesting Part Deux: The Devil is in the Details

Now that all the planning is behind me -- in the first Everesting podcast (https://endurancenation.us16.list-manage.com/track/click?u=54dc221df5218e0dafff46b51&id=6b783f4ea1&e=443f1a9157) -- It’s time to actually get on the bike and ride. Step One...set the alarm for 1:30am. Step Two...fill all those bottles and find all the bib shorts. Step Three...turn on Zwift. Step Four...start pedaling and don’t look back!
