Seminar: speed to be had in transition: or how I won my AG at Lake Placid by peeing in transition
so at about 9 PM EDT or 8 PM CDT or whatever your zone is that matches this, we will be talking about tips for getting free minutes during a race in transition.
go to:
at your designated time...
@Coach Patrick is thankfully going to help me out here as I am zipping home from work to be with you all on time.
Transition 1: out of the water you want to
have your bike shoes set up or on the bike or... learn how to run in them...
socks greased up to slide on and into shoes
spray yourself with sunscreen
use bib belt if you like to the back or... not...
have helmet clipped and on before you touch the bike (1 minute penalty otherwise) and put on glasses
Transition 2: off the bike
rip bike shoes off and slide your feet into shoes
spray body with sunscreen or have helper in transition do that
put on running hat and bib belt if you didn't have it on on the bike
You want to work to getting first transition down to 2 minutes and second transition down to 1 if possible.
Tips? Opinions? let's do it!
(BTW, everyone does things a little different... practice and preparation to avoid unnecessary movement is important)
Ok folks, hope to see you there!
