EN Chica Playlist for IMoo Mile 18
During our long run on the IMoo course at Cowgirl Camp this past weekend, we stopped at Mile 18 and soaked in the glory of what we imagined this spot will look like on race day! We agreed that we need a boom box blaring some special music to go with the Chica theme and to give Rich (and others?) something to dance to
Sooooo, what songs do we want on that playlist? We'll burn a CD (or two) and then we just need to find a local (or someone driving to the race) to bring a nice big boom box to play it on. I'll start:
You Can Leave Your Hat On, Joe Cocker (and really, anything from the Full Monty soundtrak!)
Mambo No 5, Lou Bega
All the Single Ladies, Beyonce
It's Raining Men, Weathergirls
Sisters are Doin it for Themselves, Eurythmics
What else should we add ladies?
Comments

LMAO!!!! That's definitely "out there"- but oh so perfect!!!
this list is awesome... several of these songs are in my iPod and some of them just always pump me up (i.e., Gonna make you sweat)!
As I think about it, my all time favorite motivator isn't really a chick power song, but it just sort of always gets me in a determined kind of mode: One Shot by Eminem. And I'm not even a rap fan, but the lyrics (i.e., success is my only ... option, failure's not) just resonate with me and I have been known to listen to that one a few times before moving on.
And I agree ... I would almost fly to WI to watch Coach Rich dancing in the speedo to "I'm Too Sexy" that would absolutely be worth the cost of admission (and heck, since I'd be there I'd get in line for 2011 the next day).
Yup! That is what I thought in my twisted mind. I was giggling with the visuals
I Run For Life is Melissa Ethridge. Always makes me cry as it reminds me of my BFF that died from breast CA.
Love all of the ideas.
Gotta go with Journey's Don't Stop Believing.
I have to say, the songs I listed were for Rich in the speedo, not necessarily anything I would choose for mile 18 inspiration!!
Yeah- I'm trying to put together a Speedo/EN Chica Sisterhood/Girl Power kinda Playlist. Something to make us laugh. We've built EN Inspiration lists before, but I'm looking for something more playful Also, would rather not have songs that we know are gonna be played by Ironman in Transition, Inspirations Station, or Finish Line (i.e Beautiful Day, U2).
"Shake It" - Metro Station
"Underwear' - Magnetic Fields
"Je veux de voir" - Yelle
"Tightrope" - Janelle Monae
"Konichiwa Bitches" - Robyn
"Infanta" - The Decemberists
"Dancing with Myself" - The Donnas
"Rapper's Delight" - The Sugarhill Gang
"Hollaback Girl" - Gwen Stefani

"Nasty Girl" - Nitty
"Natural's Not In It" (Repackaged by the Rakes)- Gang of Four
"Super Bon Bon" - Soul Coughing
"Work" - Gang Starr
"No You Girls" - Franz Ferdinand
And could we add "Fat Bottomed Girls"? I love it -- but would this get our boys in trouble? Or is there universal trigirl love for Freddie?
Yes! So we may as well throw in "We are the Champions" too.
Push it- Salt & peppa
Just a little Bit- Gina G (my all time fav run song)
You better run - Pat Benatar
Sexy Chick- David Guetta
Bombshell- Powerman 5000
I like to move it
