  • No the Moab Winter Sun 10K is not a hilly course, relatively speaking. It has some gradual climbs with one good climb but other than that-- it's gradual down and flat. I had a good race today, not my fastest on the course but then again, I didn't taper. It's a great race that gets bigger and bigger each year. Today's weather was so cold that I wore tights and full gear on all extremities to survive. You know it's cold when all the runners are drinking hot chocolate after the race verses gatorade.

Olivia, I hope you have a fantastic week and that the weather is more than decent in beautiful Florida. I'm curious to hear about your specific focus weeks.

Kristen, I would imagine snow is a rare jewel where you live. Sort of a bitter-sweet. I actually like my trainer right now as I don't want to freeze outside, it terrifies me! Sad but true. I'm sure I'll be ready for the long rides outdoors in a few months.

Sheryl, I'm assuming you're from Minnesota. You're the true polar bear of our team. We are truly whimps when it comes to cold weather where you wouldn't even hesitate to get the work done.

Marc, I feel just like you, tired most of the time and it feels like my past experience with LSD too. I'm so glad I'm not trying to get in long runs and rides this winter and honestly my fitness feels on track with the intensity training we'er doing. I was encouraged by our last field test results and every once in a while I feel really strong while doing one of our workouts.

I might not check in for a week but I'll be thinking about all of you to keep me motivated while I'm in So Cal.
