Week of 7/19 - The "Island of Misfit Toys" Training Thread

Hi Guys:

Was off whitewater rafting for 3 days last week and never got around to posting this thread.  Sorry about that!

On Saturday I shelled myself with a ~50 mile bike at ~.89 IF and then did a :15 run.  Longest, hardest bike so far this season.  Big confidence boost.

On Sunday I went and paced my wife at an Oly that was one of her two "A" races this year.  Two years ago she couldn't swim (literally, she couldn't swim) and now she is doing Oly's in OW!  Was a big day for her as she had like a 20 minute PR!  She paced the bike very well and then negative split the 10k run.  I am so proud of her!

The bike for me at the Oly was only .689 IF but it was more than worth it to see her do so well.  And it is amazing how good your legs feel coming off the bike after only 25 miles with a low IF like that.    I did the same course last month with a .82 and I was shelled on the run.
