Mini Review - Brooks Infiniti Notch Shorts

New review in the wiki: Brooks Infinit Notch Shorts

What a GREAT summer short for long, hot runs!  These are the driest shorts I've ever run in.

These shorts are 2-in-1 style, where the liner is more of a compression short than a brief.  This helps prevent chafing.  The Infiniti short fixes one common problem with 2-in-1 shorts: getting soggy.  The liner is much thinner than those in other 2-in-1's that I've run in, and have tiny holes every 1/32" of an inch (or so), and collect almost zero water.  In comparison, I have hung up my other favorite 2-in-1's made by Asics, and had a puddle form on the ground after a few minutes (disclaimer - I'm somewhat of a mutant-sweater!).

The outside shell is also very light, and has front and crotch panels that are also perforated.  There are two long reflective lines running front to side of the short (where they should be for those of us who run against traffic!), and two small velcroed pockets on the back (one with a reflective logo).  Inside is another (typical) running short hold-a-key pocket.

Cost: $35 at SportsBasement.com

  • i use these and love them as well. I'm a Brooks ID member, so I've tried almost all brooks products. I think their stuff is incredible. If you don't mind some shorter running shorts, their HVAC shorts are pretty solid!
  • These are my favorite shorts! I own three pairs so far. The women's version does not have a compression liner, but I don't mind that. What I like is the low waist band and the hip pockets. I can stuff up to three gels in each one but never feel overloaded or heavy. I even swapped out my tri shorts for my Brooks running shorts at Placid this year because they are just. that. comfortable.
  • Ditto. Love the Brooks line. Ive been using a Brooks running short for two years now...look as good as new.
