Weigh in 8/11
Another week gone by and . . . I'm still at 212, not bad considering how I ate at the lake all weekend.
Let's here how you are doing.

After a crazy 7 lbs gain to 143 in one rest day and then 7 lbs lost in the next 24 hours, I'm back on track.
I was 136.2 this morning which is right about where I want to be at 8 weeks out. Trying to hit 135 about 6 weeks out from my race and then will see if I can go any lower without many negative effects on my training/mood.
@Gordon - nice to be consistent... hope you can get off the plateau, though!
@Matt - geez, since you're catching up to me, I guess I'd better get a move on. Still trending down and at my lowest Wed weigh in weight (130.6), but up from yesterday (130) and way up from Fri (128ish)... using the LoseIt App (to assess caloric intake, etc) and mostly paleo eating, which I think has helped a lot... For the most part, pretty happy. I officially start IM training Monday (although in an abbreviated fashion for the first 2 weeks bc I have an HIM next weekend). Once upon a time I wanted to be at race weight when that happened, but am very happy to be 9 down from OS and more confident that I can continue to trend down and be at 125 by the first RR in late Sept... and then hopefully I can hold 'er steady.
Down to Gordon weight of 212. Kinda fell off the eating wagon a little the past few days (need to stay out of the breweries and their awesome burgers). But jumped back on yesterday.
201 for me. I have dipped below 200 after training runs and rides but have yet to have a "legit" sub-200 weigh in yet. Sooo close. I would have dropped below by now if I could lay off the wine at night. Some things are just not worth the cost! But I will definitely be sub-clydesdale on race day in Louisville. It is amazing the difference in how I feel on my runs as the weight has come down. I was doing some light weight lifting the other day and had a 45 pound dumbell in one hand. It occurred to me that this was how much weight I have lost. To think that I was carrying that much extra weight around on my runs earlier this year is shocking. I can not believe I did not get injured! The only negative in dropping this weight is that my dominance in the household is constantly challenged now by by 15 year old twin boys. They seem to think they can take me in our wrestling matches now that I am lighter. Can you picture the old Pink Panther movies with Inspector Clouseau where Cato, his man servant, is constantly blindsiding Clouseau? Then you have a good image of what my life has been like lately! I am still King but it is definitely getting tougher!!
My nutritionist just changed up my program to 'cleanse' myself of some extra pounds before my peak HIM training period starts, hopefully it doesn't sap too much energy from me. The extreme heat and humidity are already doing enough of that for me!!!
@John - Good job, I hope I don't become the EN standard for weight like the Mendoza (sp?) line in baseball. Maybe we will have to put the official Gordon line at 215 or perhaps we should call it the Chermaniac line, which is just a slight twist on my last name.
@Mark. Yes it is shocking how much weight was being carried around. My dumbell is only around 40lbs. Now as for your other problem with the 15 year old boys you might have to divide and conquer. I know that my brother send his two kids in on me first (8 and 5) before he joins in. Unfortunately my brother has gone back to getting in shape and is lifting weights. It's only a matter of time before I lose if he continues.

I'm much happier this week, down about 7 pounds from a year-high weight. I did the crash induction diet thing going > 1000 net negative calories every day, but I think it was the (forced by call) lack of wine and the very clean eating that has helped the most. I must say that I used to be a huge skeptic about the "5 to 15 pounds of waste" that the commercials say many of us carry around in our bellies, but it's the only thing to me that can explain this much weight loss. I was not overhydrated last week, and I am adequately hydrated this week after getting horribly dehydrated (without really knowing it) last weekend. I got down to 150 pounds after Sunday's ride and now am keenly aware of how dehydration tank's my performance. It took over 2 days for my pee to clear. I'm going to try and stick with the cleaner diet and dial back the calorie deficit to 500 and we'll see what happens next week.
This is a total chick comment, but I fit into my "skinny" jeans today. The jeans I haven't been able to fit into for many, many, many months.
Definitely a good day on the body comp front.
Kudos all around!!!
@John - I'm almost inspired to go home and try on a pair of jeans...but I'm sorta waiting/hoping to be pleasantly surprised come fall (I put on about 15 lbs from last Sept 1 (when I was at race weight) through Jan/Feb - and then seemed to hold steady there forever... and this past winter I had all sorts of trouble with clothes not fitting and having to resort to sizes I had but hadn't worn in years... I will say that a pair of pants I started the summer with a muffin top wearing are super comfy once again! So, I'm optimistic that putting on jeans won't involve me lying on my bed and pulling and tugging and sucking in my stomach to button them.
@Terry - way to go on your -7... I'm right there with ya (at -9 from my first OS bike test)! I also attribute my success since July to clean eating - I haven't kicked the wine habit (as Mark put it, some things are just too good to pass up) but I am cutting way way back and, for the most part, only having it with weekend dinners. Unfortunately I often have more than I should or intend too... just so good!
@Mark - 45! WOW that is awesome... the dumbbell moment reminds me of the Biggest Loser when they make the contestants run carrying the weight they lost on their backs... it really hits home! congrats, that really is amazing... those age groupers better watch out!
So now I'm trying to figure out how I did it, because that's a diet book that deserves to be written, right? The only significant differences I can think of between the cruise and my normal routine were: 1) I slept a lot more, 2) I moved around more during the day, rather than sitting in a desk chair all day, and 3) I didn't graze between meals, as large as those meals might have been - grazing's a problem for me in the afternoons since I work from home, and tend to grab a handful of cereal from the pantry when I get bored. So I'm experimenting with working in a standing position part of the day, and really trying to avoid the grazing, and we'll see what happens.
