Weigh in 8/18

Apparently I have to cut back on food during the taper.

I bumped up 2 lbs to 214.

How did everyone else do this week?

  • Down to 104 pre-workout this morning. That's just fine, if I can be 105 on race morning I'll be happy. The taper is gonna be the tough part- I'm where I'd like to be, I just gotta stay there when the workout volume drops!
  • I weigh in the morning when I wake up.  Just got off the scale and I am at 210!  Down 2 from last week.

    I have been eating really well.  Clean and healthy.  However, Sunday was my official "cheat" day and I ate a whole medium peperoni and bell pepper pizza by myself for dinner.  It was soooooooo good.   

  • Finally reached 145.0 - my goal weight ever since I embraced the fitness lifestyle two years ago.

    And I think I've figured out how I lost weight on a nine-night cruise while eating dessert three times a day - no "grazing". As a telecommuter, I've been in the habit of grabbing a handful of cereal from the kitchen any time I got up to stretch my legs. Must've been taking in more calories that way than I realized, because now that I've put a stop to it, my weight is dropping again. New goal for next season: 139.9!

    @Gordon and Nemo, I've been surprised as well at how much I need to adjust my eating on rest days and taper days. It seems to help to get in the habit of eating when hungry, rather than set amounts at set times. That automatically adjusts for exercise volume.
  • you're not the only one, Gordon... I'm up during my taper week... but it's also standard for me to be a bit heavier this week of the month.  Not crazy high, 130.2 - but at the end of last week (Fri is apparently my lowest weekly weigh in day) I was in the 128 range and I'd hope to keep it there... still hopeful I can get to 125 by my RR 9/25 and keep it there... fingers crossed.
