After I completed IM #1, I said I would get a tatt if I completed a 2nd IM. After IM #2, I said I was thinking about it. I see A LOT of ink in my job & I just can't bring myself to the permanence of one.
Also, I have have watched Susanna go through the pain and cost of having a few removed. Big deterrant.
I once read an article that listed ten things that supposedly if you hadn't done them by age 40, you would statistically speaking never do them. One of the items was get a tattoo. I had vowed to fight human nature by getting a tattoo at 40 years old and 1 day, but I find myself now at 42 still sans tattoo. Perhaps in Germany after Regensburg and a few brews next summer.

I think there will be a great market for a drive up tat removal stand. Maybe when I grow up....
My wife and I are on different pages on this. She wants me to get a MDot TAT. But at the same time, she give me a hard time about being a TriGeek. Hmmm...
I'm afraid that as I get older (and gain weight) my MDOT would become more of a J.
PnR---I assume you're going to give Greg Vanichkachorn a lifetime membership if he gets his giant EN Tramp Stamp across his back.
Dang it, guys, I had never even thought about getting ink until this thread and especially Kevin's comment about things that almost never get done for the first time after 40. (Wish I could find that article...) Thought about it a bit more, though, and decided a tattoo on my calf would only be worth the ink if it had a chance of demoralizing anyone I passed on the bike or run. MDot alone isn't enough; lots of these guys have done IM's. Now, if I should ever qualify for, race, and complete Kona, that would be worth some ink, I think.
