Mohawks Making a Comeback?

Maybe it's just me, but I think my preschoolers are on to something. First the silly bands, which now almost every adult I know (limited circles) is wearing. Then a few weeks ago a bunch of the boys had mohawks...then yesterday on my flight from BOS to LOU, I see like 5 of them. Did I mess some man memo???

  • Before you know it they will be out again. I know one little guy who had a mohawk months ago. Now his classmates have them and he doesn't want one anymore.
  • I've seen plenty of fo-hawks around, more last year, but not the full on mo yet. Hell, I used to have one back in high school. Green even.
  • I prefer the natural triple mohawk I get from my bike helmet. That will never go out of style.
  • OK, I'll bite. What's a fo-hawk?
  • If I had the ability to grow one, I would prob have one for some race days. Like my nasty race-stache that some of you have witnessed firsthand.

But, alas, mother nature and the genes from my father - and his father, etc - have cursed me!

Sorry, it's actually a faux hawk.  Rather than try to describe it I'll just link to Google Images

  • I looooooove the faux-hawk. A friend of mine pointed out that my favorite basketball player and favorite hockey player have both sported the faux hawk at one point...I would have high respect for a triathete rocking the faux-hawk on race day image
  • I took my 6yo daughter for a haircut yesterday and her stylist (a guy) was totally sporting the faux-hawk. I would have one, except my exceptionally high, solar-panel forehead would make it look really stooopid and I would have to put up with the crap my 6yo daughter would give me.
  • I'm getting one on my chest.

    Uh, Dave, PIX!

  • Ah, yes, the old Beckham 'do...

So you'll get a chest hair faux-hawk, but not shave your legs...A bold man-scaping statement indeed!

  • I am debating using my head as a billboard for the chicas at IMWI. I just need an artist to help me. Any one with MAD hair cutting skilz in the house going to be at IMWI?

    Noodle, you ROCK!

  • I wish I had enough hair for a faux hawk so I'm going to have settle for a NO HAWK!

I don't have any but will send a request out to HS friends on Facebook and see if anyone else does.  Kinda scared of what will turn up!

Did he do that himself or have help?

  • I could do a chest hair mohawk for the Chicas too. Would probably go great with the speedo. If I get more than 2 requests, I'll make it so. Should also match nicely with whatever we paint on Noodles head!
  • We saw a sweet fo-hawk at Uphill Grind on the Madison course today . Doode was rockin' the Europro look but in civilian garb vs bike kit.
