Sept 12, Drillbit/WTGU Day

Team;

First, if you haven't seen this I'll be back thread from Trent, please go read it so you can get the background for the reason behind this small show of support for Drillbit.

As you know, on September 12, there will be a HUGE party in Madison with something like 38 Endurance Nation Teammates either running the street in Pink Visors (both men and woman) or dancing at Mile 18 in Pink Speedos  to support the 20+ EN Chicas racing at Moo.  We know that many of you who can't join us in person are already planning to stake out in front of your PCs in Pink Visors, EN Chicas Rule T's, or Pink Speedos to send us good vibes from home too!

The Moo racing crew would like to ask you to add just a few more pieces of Mojo to your tailgating outfits.

To show support for Trent as he faces his newest challenge, the Moo racing crew will be sewing a drill bit to their pink visors for the race and adding "WTGU" (would Trent give up?) to their body markings.  We told Trent we would carry a piece of him with us on race day to give us strength, and this is how we are going to make it happen!!  We ask that everyone on the Endurance Nation team do the same on September 12- wherever you will be and doing whatever it is you have planned to do that day.

Here is a link to a picture of Gina's pink visor with the drill bit attached so you can see what we are doing.

It's simply sewn onto the visor and we are pretty confident it will hold just fine.

I'm frankly not sure if Trent is on the forums or not- so he may not even see this thread.  But that doesn't matter.  It's our collective spirit and power of sending him our support that is most important.  He may not see the thread, but I'm sure he'll feel the love.

Please join us!!!

  •  That is awesome!

  • Yep, I will have WTGU on my left calve and right forearm at Big Kahuna HIM this Sunday.

  • I just went for a short run with the drill bit on the pink visor---holds up just great!
Add "Write WTGU with Sharpie all over arms and legs" to the Race schedule!

This is just great---really what EN is all about!
  • This team rocks...
  • My visor is in transit, so I'll get a drill bit and Beth's thread for sewing when I arrive.
  • Remember, this is a team wide dealio.  Not just an IM MOO dealio.

    So this Sunday . . .

    • If you are on a training ride, put a drill bit in your bento box or attach it to your clothing.  Or write WTGU on your calf.  Or whatever.
    • If you are on a training run, do something with WTGU on your body or a drill bit.
    • If you are at an event, have the body markers put WTGU on you.
    • If you are sitting home drinking beers and watching football, put a drill bit on you coffee table.

The power of this team ROCKS!!!!!!!

  • And, remember folks, pics or it didn't happen.

Michelle - Thread is ready for you!

  • And if you happen to be wearing a pink speedo, I'm sure we can find somewhere to body mark WTGU :-)

I'll make sure we have an adequate supply of sharpies on hand at mile 18!

Chris, That needs to be the first entry into the EN photo Hall of Fame!

Or, shall we start calling you Mr. January?

  • Chris, you have set the bar way too high! Or, uh, too low? :-)

Also, I am not sure many of the new folks get the whole "drill bit" reference. Does someone wanna clarify for those who may be uninformed?
  • This is all fantastically INSANE!!!! Drill bit sewn on visor. Gotta scoot. Flying out in the morning!

Not sure how I'm going to sleep with the image of mile 18 now all too real in my brain.

  • John, I've been searching and I can't find the original post that started the Drillbit nickname. Grrrrr. In summary folks, Trent is in the home builder business and one day he had a little on site incident resulting in a drill being put through his thigh- and yet he still managed to do the Tues/Thurs OS workout that week. That's just one of MANY little accidents Trent has had over the past year or two where he just bounced back as if nothing at all had happened to him. He became Mr Indestructible. So someone (John was it you? Or maybe Chris? ) dubbed him Drillbit.

Killing me that I can't find that post!!
  • Showed pink speedo pic to teenage daughters....they may end up on Dr. Phil but they are all going to head straight to Mile 18 when the start prowling the run course...Oldest said she wasn't missing this sight for the world. This is such a great support!!! I have to say that my doctors told me I would likely not have survived if I hadn't had such an awesome support team when I was going through treatment so based on this alone.....Trent will be back as the Cyber Drillbit Triathlete!!!!
  •  @ Nemo - Thanks for the back story. I've been around this forum for about 15 months now, and while I can read between lines pretty well, I never knew exactly where that reference was coming from.

I'll be doing an RR type of workout on Sunday, and will work the WTGU/drillbit mojo into my routine.

  • Sorry about the pic, folks. I have too much time on my hands these days. The neighbors are nonplussed and I've effectively killed any chance that I may ever run for public office.

Not only did Trent stick the drill in his leg, he then went out and crushed his next workout, prompting the peanut gallery to tell him to bash himself prior to all his workouts. He also crashed during TdCali separating his shoulder and then continued on with the tour.

T is for Trent is for Tough. Get well soon.
  • I don't have any power tools... but will find a way to home depot before I leave Friday - and that drill bit will stay with me/on my bike through IMFL!  Super cool!

and, I think it's a good thing I wasn't eating or drinking anything when I saw that photo or my computer screen would be coated.  Chris, you rock!  That is awesome!
