I can't tell you how worried I was as I couldn't find you on the run course. I didn't know until after the finish what had happened! Your courage and cheaky EN chicka, never say die, attitude was a HUGE piece of me making it to the line that day. I look forward to the 2012 revenge tour. Times withstanding, training, racing & living with you gals this past year has truly been the time of my life. I wouldn't have and won't trade it for anything!
Holy cow! I'm glad you posted that picture as I could have never pictured just how bad it was. I'm glad you are ok and this just goes to show that you are the toughtest of the tough given all that you have been through this year. On a positive note, it also sounds like you are going to give IM another try so I hope to be there with you on the revenge tour.
Not much that I can add. As the others have said, the way you handled this year and this crash prove that you ARE the iron spirit.
Because I'm crazy, I sit and wonder "why?" Why Linda? Why? After all of that horror and emotional strain from Keith's crash, this is what happens? And to LINDA!? What?! What is it that we are supposed to learn from this? But then I remember that we're not given more than we can handle, and that if anyone can handle junk like this it is LINDA PATCH! (That still doesn't mean I'm gonna like it....;| ) I am just so beyond glad that you weren't hurt more than you were. Ugh!
You are amazing and you did prove a lot to yourself AND to the team this year. The fact that you were out there cheering for the team after all this was nothing short of freaking cool! There is a lot we can all learn from your example.
Your revenge tour will be great....but in the meantime rest, have fun with Cali, hang with your awesome (healthy) hubby, and smile....
Linda... just catching up on RR's now and I'm still just so shocked and sad about what happened to you. But like Olivia said, if there is anyone... anyone... strong enough to not only get to the starting line after all the challenges thrown your way this year, but to execute so well for 85+ miles and then pick themselves up from that kind of crash, deal with the disappointment, and go cheer on teammates, it's you. That's what makes you an Ironman - not finishing a race. It would be an honor to join the Revenge Tour... sign me up!
