  • What I will always remember about you at MOO is your smile. Every single time I saw you your smile preceded you. Race morning, during the race, after the race, etc. It was so awesome! You were clearly there to enjoy your day. Then out you go with your spot on focus on nutrition and execution and bust out a great first IM. Well done, sista! I'm so proud of you! Keep smiling and basking in the glow of your first IM finish!
  • Wow Beth, looking at your bike and run splits, you define ninja execution...and on your first IM! Truly amazing! Congratulations!
  • @Chuck -- I love the Incredibles image! And you wouldn't believe what this team looked like on the course. I wasn't ready for all the chatty, demoralized-looking people, who seemed to forget they were doing an Ironman. No matter what state they were in, everyone looked like that had a magnet drawing them to the finish line.

    @Olivia -- No one told me how fun it was to play this Ironman game! All this talk of suffering and digging deep made it sound like race day wasn't that fun -- but it a total joy to play. I had no idea.

    @Vince - LP2012? You'll have lots of company.

    @Kris -- We have some chatting to do! I need to hurry up and buy a couch so I can have chica houseguests!
  • FOOKIN AWESOME! Beth, I'm so happy for you! Execution of an IM race just doesn't get any better- and this was your FIRST!!! Holy crap. Congratulations Chica!
  • Ahhh....what a wonderful race report!!! Great for you!!! I know what you mean about coming in late on the swim and I will be with you swimming in the outseason. In fact, I'm doing drills starting tomorrow....just slow steady TI drills. I'm actually looking forward to it. I want to shave 20 minutes. If you find any secrets....please share!!! Great job you...finishing this challenge. Hope we can get together in Chicago this winter!!! We will be that direction over Thanksgiving! So happy to have met you!
  • Super, duper great race! Running you through T1 was a highlight for us as well! I don't think you could write a better explanation of how the EN system works than your RR. Slow swim, followed by really well paced but not super fast bike, followed by a smokin' fast marathon even though your longest ever run was only 16 miles. You passed 625 people on the run...that's UNBELIEVABLE...>20% of the entire field! Work works, and you worked so hard in the OS and race prep, you totally deserve the result you got! Super proud of you! Congratulations! Way to represent!
  • Beth, i saw the Energizer Bunny at the Great Forest park Balloon Race on Saturday and though of you.  The largest balloon in the country!  This balloon starts the race and all 65 other balloons try to catch up.

  • @Nemo - Thanks! Looking forward to racing with you again.

    @Sheryl - Yeah. BOP is lonely! And I'm going hard core on swim. Set up assessment with a good coach, make a plan, which will likely involve master's team + lessons.

    @Bill - Thanks! I'm looking to be a little less extreme with a swim/bike next time. But doing what RnP tell you to do, works!

    @Matt - -MY BUNNY! Hooray! I'll should take pics on the little pink one that was on my handlebars.
  • Way to go Beth! Great report and fantastic race! That joyful spirit sure carried you a long way... beyond the bike, beyond Mile 18, and all the way to the finish line. Not to mention past 600+ people on the run! In your first IM! That is amazing. You earned the "Ironman" title for sure. Congratulations!!
