Our platform is a training PLAN platform, not a training LOG. As coaches, we are about:
* the quality of the training plan * the quality of supporting resources for that plan * the quality and ease of support you find for that plan form the members and coaches.
So when designing the platform we focused on writing kickass plans, parking kickass content next to those plans, and then making it stoopid easy for you to get support from me, Patrick and the team when you have questions.
Basically, we are coaches, not programmers, and have no interest or business trying to create something to compete with TrainingPeaks, WorkoutLog, or the dozen other training logs out there. Many of our members use those tools or roll their own via speadsheets, word docs, cocktail napkins, etc.
So, short answer is there is no space for tool for you to upload your training data into your training plan account. However, you can always post any question you like, any workout summary, etc in the forums and the coaches and team will help you right away. We have some very, very, very smart datatypes on this team who are always happy to help others.
Thanks for the reply!!!! I understand, but it would be nice to have one stop shopping I look forward to the next two weeks and once I get myself together I'll post some questions about getting myself ready to tackle IMCDA next year (for the second time.)
I had that logging question too. I find myself looking at continuing to log (and graph, analyze, see plan vs. actual, time in HR zones, manage nutrition, etc) in www.beginnertriathlete.com and utilizing EN for the plan and forum and general awesomeness and not-quite-so-beginnerishness. And I’m working on getting a power meter right now and not sure how to pare down the sites I’m using to manage my data. Is there another site that’s better than BT or otherwise recommended? I’ve been using it for four years and LOVE it but honestly haven’t been shopping around.
Michael, as Coach Rich said we don't typically upload *all* of our workouts to any place on the EN site, however a lot of us often upload data from key workouts. If you look at the race reports, race rehearsals and well a ton of other threads for that matter you'll see members uploading data from WKO or other software about the power we were able to keep, HR, TSS, IF, etc. Additionally, you can also submit your power or HR files for your race rehearsal or race itself to 'the Crucible' and someone will analyze it and give you feedback.
So we all keep our own logs, I use WKO+ and Garmin Connect personally, but just share the important workouts / excepts from those logs when needed.
Great question...we have decided to spend our $$ and energy on incredible plans and helping you to execute them. If you have the plan written out, and you do it all, you don't need a log...you can just look at your plan! In reality, your training log tells you what you have done, when we are really focused on your today and the next few days (what you can do). The logging helps but is by no means required. Most of our folks use WKO+, but some use SportTracks, others use BT or Training Peaks...depends on what works for you!
Thanks for the replies!!!! I'm currently usuing TP, but wil look around and see what works best before I get too deep into my next phase of training. Keeping it simple with Garmin Connect will probably be the direction I go.
As Rich says, there are a lot of logs out there. TrainingPeaks is probably the most popular. I have a power meter, use the WKO software and slug all my s/b/r into it. Best analytical software IMO.
