Fitting Long Weeks into 12 Week IM Plans
Hi-
I've been doing quite a bit of reading from the ebooks and information that you've mailed out over the past few weeks and I've been impressed but I keep coming up with new questions....
One question that I keep coming up with over and over is:
How easy is it to fit 2 of the "Long Weeks" or "Big Weeks" into the 12 week ironman training plans that are sold on the site?
And a follow up question that I have is: Is it smart and productive to do so?
Thanks for your time and all of your good information.

Depends on how "big" you want/can go. I know that Patrick has written a series of posts in the blog about this topic, scheduling, etc so I would do a search.
The short answer is that scheduling an epic 3 or 4 day weekend is pretty easy to accomodate on both the front and back end of the weekend. Bigger or longer than that and it requires more care on the backend and careful placement in relation to the race. That said, you're fine to do these up until 8, "maybe" 6-7wks out from your race. Closer than that and they will begin to bump up against the race rehearsals and other stuff we have scheduled for you. These should take priority.
