Critique my times

Hi everyone,

Thought I would post my times and ranks at the NYC Olympic in July.  Trying to figure out where to focus the most effort on for OS: bike or run.  Usually a pretty good runner (recent vdot of 53.7) but my times were not where I wanted.  Not sure if it was hills+heat in central park, poor running fitness, or whether I went too hard on bike and caused run to suffer.  Goal for next year is 2:10-2:15.

Any insights/advice would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks.

  • Ian,
I think you can focus equally on both bike and run improvement in the OS, then as the end of the OS approaches and if you have a few weeks to add in a bike or run block focus you can decide then where you think you might make the most gains based on how much you already improved.
  • Nice Swim... it's pretty clear you don't need to work on that much. I agree with Jennifer just stick with the OS plan and improve both the bike and run. Next step after that is to figure out exactly why you run suffered and fix that.... "there is no such thing as a good bike followed by a bad run"
  • thanks guys. looking forward to getting faster in the OS.
