How I started My PRE-OS
I was reading an article a few weeks ago about athletes, musicians, and Olympians that regularly ‘visualize’ their performance. So I decided to start my OS my riding the IMWI course and getting some mental pics for my drainer rides for the upcoming NOV OS. After coming back from hip surgery, I knew that it would be smart to get my bike re-fitted by a highly recommended fitter in Madison, Jonnie Diederich. He is a close friend of Michelle Moreno. I drove down on Friday. Jonnie did an amazing job. He really knows his bikes and took time to explain why he was making each adjustment. (we took a break to test Michele’s form for the “push up challenge” see video) .
The next morning we drove to Milwaukee to watch Jonnie race a Cycle Cross race. It was SUPA cold but AMAZING to watch. Total FTP for 35+mins!!
When the alarm went off at 7am Sunday, the temp was 35 degrees. Michele and I fueled up with cold left over pizza and head out to ride one loop of the IMWI course with Jonnie. Once we got moving, the weather was great. Usually after 1.5 hours of biking my lower back screams at me, but after the 2.5 hour ride my back felt great. I could have gone another loop!!
My next project is preparing this huge board with my OS goals, motivational phrases and a pic of Rich holding a gun.
Special thanks to Michele and Jonnie for their friendship and good times this weekend.
On a side note, when we do our IMWI camp next year may be we could arrange for Jonnie to do some fittings and such. Just a thought.
