ALL NEW - Weigh in Spreadsheet 2010-2011

So I have created a new spreadsheet for the start of the October OS exactly the same an the previous one.  There are two columns at the start for name and citizen name if they differ.  Most individuals have their real name as their citizen name but if you don't feel comfortable putting in your real name that's fine with me.

For those still doing races or taking time off feel free to join in at any time.

I started the weigh in at 228 up about 10 lbs from IMC.  My goal to hit 200.

  •  Thanks buddy, I'm in.

  • Gordon, I am at 203. That's 4 lbs up from Louisville. I am thrilled considering what little I have done since the race. A few runs but nothing big. Looking forward to getting back into training mode. This cooler weather is getting me fired up!
  • Gordon- you are awesome! Thanks! I'm in. 105 as of today and I'd really like to just stay there this winter! I usually put on a few winter lbs- up to about 110, but if I can just stay on top of it and keep to 105, I'll be in a lot better shape going into spring races and TOC. So that's my goal- hold steady.
  • I'm thinking this is for everyone, not just Oct OS peeps?

  • Thank you for setting this up, just in time to keep me on track when the house is full of Halloween candy. I'm down to 125 as of this fall and I would like to get down to 110 by the spring.

One of my legs alone weighs 105! Holy little peep, Batman!

  • Ok, I'm in. I guess this is what you call accountability.
  • Glad we are doing this again, hopefully my weight won't just stay the same like last year.
  • BOO-YAH!  Gordon rocks!

Now to get to the point where I can say that about my body comp!

  •  Sounds great!  Nothing like a little accountability to keep me from adding my customary 5 pounds in the fall.  I'm at 134, would like to race at 130 (or maybe 126ish, but last time I was that skinny I was running a marathon, and I don't think my scrawny legs could have pedaled a bike.  Or maybe they'd have pedaled my scrawny self uphill really fast?? )

  • @ Chris - yep this is for anyone and everyone.  I'm going to be in the Nov OS so just get in when ever you want.

@ Tony - I hear you.  I will need air raid sirens or fog horns to go off all around Canada when I reach 200.

  • i'm and updated, no change.

@scott, I'm with you, I weighed 105lbs once.... once. I think I was in grade 5, gotta love genetics.
  • Oy. I needed a little time off from watching weight so closely, and it showed. Bye-bye abs... Try to get 'em back now. :-)

I put in my 10/1/10 weight; I'm not the weigh-every-day kinda guy.  Would like to race near 140.  Got down to 143 minimum this year and ballooned up to 153 in a couple of months.  That said, i weighed 153-155 in April 2010 for Boston, so it wasn't THAT ridiculous.  But I need to get it down to play with the big boys.  Goal is definitely sub 150 through winter, then focus in as the race approaches.

How reliable do you think those Tanita scales are?  I've checked my weight and BF% first thing in the morning off and on for the last few months, and that obviously can give you a lean mass by subtraction...that has been pretty constant for me, near 135 lbs.  That said, while I was thin at 143, I was definitely not one of those "skin tight" skinny guys...

I know this must be a rehash, so feel free to point me to something to read....

  • So....I did it. I put my actual weight in the spreadsheet. Bold of me since I need to lose at least 40 lbs but you know...it's not like people can't look at me and tell...like not telling you all my actual weight will make me weigh less right??? So I did it. After IMWI and seeing how incredibly supportive this group is...I just did it. OK...now I'm accountable and if Hasan loses 13 lbs before me, I'm sure it will be a huge price to pay!!! So ya'll give me 40 lashes a day to keep me on the straight and narrow. Everytime I look at chocolate, I just say, "Hey!!!! You can have that after Christmas when you are at your goal weight and in the thick of IM training!!!! Back off!" I try to not say it out loud so that people at work don't look at me funny! Thanks all!
  • Sheryl, proud of ya gal. yep TX here we come and bye bye to those 40 cuz we don't need them in the TX heat!! cuz you ARE finishing this one!!! yes i have some snickers in my house now and I am up ## since the IM.. so I am saying NO!!! take some measurements, nope don't publish those, but yep write them down, (already done it) and then think about the AWARDS banquet for the most weight lost.. and you can channel our very own BARB. smile. m
  • Sheryl- I'm proud of you too! Own up to it and you are half way there!

Oh- and 105 is not so hard when you are only 5'2" :-)
  • I'm also only 5'2", but 105 would push my body into shock. It's much happier at 120, which I'm 5lbs away from. Last year I tried to get back to 120 (it's been 3 years...and before that it was high school), but it didn't work. I really need to stay away from the fridge before bedtime image This year I'm going to do it! Just hope a forum can keep me motivated...
  • Okay, I am in again. I basically flatlined the entire last year. I think my starting weight is almost identical to last years. Need to carry through on the good intentions this year.

IMHO, like many things around here, as long as you're consistently benchmarking using the same route, ride, device, CT vs PM, etc, it's all you need. But, I do believe them to be pretty accurate (I hope anyway).

  •  I actually did it also, wrote my weight down. Yup, it is embarrassing and have a way to go. Good news is that I have already lost 16-17 lbs.

  • The weekly weight loss streak continues.  Think this is week 12 in a row?

Went and did an official Bod Pod test today.  Last one was in May.  Other than water immersion, it is the most accurate test for body weight, body fat, lean muscle, etc.  +/- 1%.   Here are the stats:

    • May 12th - Body weight = 218.3 lbs. / Body fat = 70.3 lbs. / Lean muscle = 148.1lbs.
    • October 7th - Body weight = 203.1 / Body fat = 56.3 lbs. / Lean muscle = 146.9

So, since May 12th I have lost 15.2 lbs. (24.2 lbs. since February)!   Of that 15.2 lb. loss, 14 lb's was pure body fat and 1.2 lbs. was lean muscle.  My body fat percentage dropped 4.5%!  You will always lose muscle when losing weight and only 1.3 lbs. is pretty good per my nutritionist.  I will take it.

I am fooking stoked!  The Paleo-esque diet, staying away (for the most part) from processed foods, and eating clean is really paying off and I don't feel deprived at all.

This is the lightest I have weighed in almost 20 years and my goal of sub-200 lbs. by years end is so close I can taste it.

    WOOHOO!

    Thanks for letting me rant!

  • I am in. I have a long way to go, hopefully this will keep me accountable. If you don't see me updating please crack the whip on me and I will do the same for you. Thanks to all in advance.
  • Thanks Gordon for the accountability!  Makes it much easier to watch what I eat and work on getting to my race weight knowing that I have to post my weight.

  • I stepped on the scale this morning and it said, "One at a time please."  Apparently the recent Jan Ullrich eating regimen is working to perfection.  Looking to get to 195 by July's HIM and will evaluate after that.  It sounds  better to say I'm 103 kg.

  • ugh... I still have my A+ race to go and I've lost ground this week... big time... the last 2 weeks my eating has been all over the map. I'm hungry all the time, fine, I guess, this training has been intense... but I'm not really sticking to the primal methodology as well as I have been since July... and it shows. A month til race day... A week and a day til my 2nd RR. I wanted to be at race weight for the first RR... now I'm just hoping to be back to my normal range for the second RR and to hold it steady til FL. Yikes! I just want to be able to put my jeans on and not have them fit like they just came out of the dryer unless they did just come out of the dryer... grumble...
  • I'm added to the tracking matrix and looking forward the the community support this out season. I've been using Lose It! for about a month with good success and finding it much easiler than the paper diet log. I hope to be able to link-up with others on Lose It! for more support and to able to encourage others. Let's get to it!

  • Gordon,

Thanks for doing this.  Count me in.  I've lost 30 pounds this year and would like to drop another 25 or so to maximize my potential.  I'll never be a skinny guy, but I'm cool with that, just want to get faster.

  • I hate getting on the scale. Compromise for me- weigh every other week.

  • I'm (back) in! And thanks to peak IM training, I'm really close to my goal weight! image

Now the hard part will be keeping it down post-IMFL image

Thanks for keeping this going Gordon!
