Searchable members list

Would it be possible to search current members to find out who lives near you?  I was thinking of by State as a simple place to start.  The Member Map is cool and would do exactly the same thing, but it doen't seem to be linked 'live' to the member database.  If that was linked live, that would do the trick.

Other search terms that might be useful for finding people are OS start and 'A' races.  These may need to be added as a field in a user profile but seem pretty straight forward.

We used to have a location 'tag' on our online presence/posts, but that disappeared with v4.0 that we're using now. The location has been requested multiple times since then, so I know it's on RnPs wish list, but their plate is pretty full with all the behind-the-scenes work.

In the bar above the forum, find Members. Click on that, then Advanced Search. You can use this to search by state. Yes, we have plans to do all of that stuff you mentioned above but there are other items on the list first. Thanks.

Thanks for the quick feedback.   I did see the Advanced Search but never tried searching 'Regions' for a state (ME, NH, etc) .  It said 'Region' so i tried "northeast', 'new england', etc and got nothing.  I just figured I was too stoopid to use it.  

Now that I know how to use it, it's great.  No hurries on the other stuff - between all the OS startups, uniforms and other gear - this is WAY LOW on the priority list.

The only issue with searching by state, which is listed as region and should probably be changed, is that not everyone has their location listed on their profile in the 4.0 version.

Some people just dont want to be found I guess. I just wanted a way to find out if there were any ENers nearby. No biggie, I've been training alone for the past 8 years and I imaging I can go a few more on my own.......
