Get Your Geek On: Live ANT+ Data to Computer

See the second item in this older post I found over in the news section of ST. I love the reference to being able to have a CompuTrainer effect for less than 1% of the price of the current CT.

How long until RnI have "nascar" dashboard updates on our iphones at mile 56 where I can tell what your TSS is as you ride up and can really admonish you?  image

Rich, a la Ghostbusters paranormal test scene, will kick you in the nutz regardless of the data...but would be supa cool....

  • Now they have to develop the remote kick in the nutz feature, sends out a text to Rich when we screw up and he responds with a kick

  • Seems like very cool functionality. I've been toying around with the idea of getting this software, as well. It would be cool to set up group 'rides' in the morning.

  • This makes my brain hurt....
  • I think I'll download the Ant+ API code and see if I can "listen" in on the Ant noise coming from my bike. Right now I only have the Garmin Speed and Cadence sensor. But from there, it might be easy to then publish the data to a website shared by multiple people. The key for me is seeing if my Garmin Ant USB stick can be accessed from an external program.
@Mike - that software is cool, but it requires a fair investment and a fair bit of hardware. I'm thinking that for PowerTap w Ant, with a Garmin Ant USB dongle...this might be pretty easy (and cheap!).
Dang, this is an interesting set of possibilities...

  • I was reading about this last night and for 15 bucks I figured it was worth the entertainment value so I ordered one. The iPad would seem to make a pretty good sized dashboard for watching all your ANT+ data

  • Random question: is the "Current Training Effect (TE)" referenced an attempt at the patented TSS? Then EN could patent a KN (Kick in Nuts) factor or maybe for the ladies a SA (Smack in Ass) factor…

I got my connect device already, it's extremely finicky and the response has a serious lag to real time pedal pressure. The App does not seem to allow custom workouts. It's still 1.0 so i'll cut them some slack.
