American Zofingen 2011 - Come one Come all!

 There really needs to be a strong EN showing at American Zofingen this spring.  Last year there far too few of us.  It is a perfect build race for northeast folks racing LP or Canada.  Really just a very cool race.  Race is May 15, 2011 in New Paltz NY.  The course is HARD.  It uses a non technical 5 mile trail loop with 4 pretty dramatic uphill sections and a 29 mile road loop for the bike with enough climbing to make LP seem flat.  Besides that it is the kind of grass roots low key race that they all should be.  Catered by an awesome local restaurant and a great post race party.  The fact that the RD now owns a brewery can't hurt that for next year.

    Darn. Had been thinking about giving it a go for 2011 but it's the same weekend as the start of ToC.

    I agree with Chris, it is a great course that must be experienced by all. Lots of different options. Highly recommend going for the Long Course! I'm in the same boat as Aaron. I was really torn deciding between a repeat of the LC or the ToC. Maybe I will do the AZ Triathlon in Aug 2011 instead.

    Sounds super cool. Thinking about doing the long course and then skipping harryman. Should make for a good training day for lake placid.

    Yep. John has a brewery now, Rhinebeck Brewery. Although previously the race was sponsored by Keegan Ales so it waw never really lacking that department. Harriman is a cool race but I think the middle distance at az is a better call. Too cold for swimming that time of year.

    Chris- agree that we need a better showing! TOC however is a huge conflict for me this year. Maybe 2012 when I'll be doing IMLP

    What's the deal with the Irish Car Bombs in the transitions? Is it the thing to do? Does everyone do them?

    It's on my maybe list for 2011. Still trying to to figure out my to-do list for 2011.

    I will investigate for sure, but I think IMTX is the next weekend so SAUs could be supa low!

    This conflicts with IM CDA training this year but hell, you know me, drinking and racing is right up my alley. Or is it just drinking is up my alley? 2011 sounds like a plan.
