Squeaky Tire

Sorry for all the posts, just trying to get all my questions out at once!

So my riding on the trainer has awaken the dead numerous times this fall due to some incessant squeaking noise. It's so bad, the neighbors dog head exploded yesterday during my second Zone 5 2.5'. From what I can tell, its coming from where the tire meets the trainer. Anyone have any thoughts? I got new tires one year ago. Im assuming that applying some oil would obviously be a bad idea. Thanks ahead.

  • I've had similar problems. I now ride on a Continental trainer tire - the bright orange one - and no squeeks.

Maybe you could deflate the tire a bit?

  •  usually when you get a squeak it is because the tire is slipping a little bit.  I would try tightening the trainer so that it pushes harder against the tire after you make sure that you have enough pressure in the tire.  I always inflate mine to 100 on the trainer.  As air escapes over time it will start to make noise.
