? before starting the OS plan on Nov 1
Hey Everyone! My name is Lauren and I'm really excited to start training with everyone . I have a quick question before I jump in and start the OS November 1st plan. I am coming off a hamstring injury where I have not been running the last month or so. Just overall tightness in the hammy after the last season of training (IMKY). Can I still start the OS training plan with a slower run base? Thanks!
Lauren

What Jennifer said. I'd take care of that hamstring now and start with the January OS -- unless you have a really early season A race. What is your A race for next season?

I did the split personality OS last year starting the bike in Novermber and running in January. I started running in early december but not on the OS schedule just getting back to running. This was weight loss related and I had not run in some time.
If your injury is healed you can start in November just cut the time down as you ramp back up the run milage. The coaches can give you some guidance as well in the weekly 'micro thread' in the general training forum as you proceed.
The recommendation for me was to keep the main set and cut the other slower stuff out. I can also run after a very short warm up so I lowered the time from a shorter warmup and cool down. This is probably not the optimal solution with a hamstring injury.
Note that even with my cautious return to running I still had achillies issues, strangely enough after taking some down time. The recommendations to get the hamstring healed before starting the OS is a good one.

Hi Lauren,
Welcome to your trial! All good recommendations from the team here and I don't really have anything to add.
