SC Half Iron vs SC REV 3

REV 3 just announced a new half iron distance race in SC (10/9/11) 1 week after SC half Iron (10/1/11). The race locations are ~ 50 miles apart. I was planning on doing the SC half iron but have heard great things about REV 3. reason for racing in SC grew up in Greenville and will tie race into vising family/friends. FWIW REV 3 is slightly closer to family by ~ 20 miles. Anyone have any thoughts?

    I believe the HalfMax will be at Myrtle Beach again on Oct 9, 2011. Busy day for S.C., and Hawaii is the same day -- should spread the talent pool that day!

    Greenwood is one of my favorite HIM courses, but the run can be brutally hot. Glad they bumped it back to Oct instead of Aug. The new Rev3 race is getting alot of attention around here ( I live in Columbia) so I suspect it will draw from Greenwood. Don't think you can go wrong with either as I've heard good things about Rev3 and SetUp always does a good job.

    I gotta say, it's great to see Rev3 growing and offering a legit alternative to WTC races. Of course, just a matter of time until WTC buys them out...but it's still good to see

    I'm with coach P sounds like win win take your pick. Think I will stay with the SC half Iron for now. Thanks for all the input.
