For movies I go with the chariot scene of Ben Hur, the Matrix, or the new Star Trek movie. For music I crank up the first movement of Mahler Symphony #6 or the first movement of Schumann Symphony #3.
That's a given. I watched the first three seasons of Lost on the trainer. I really never knew what the heck was going on with that show, or who was who, from beginning to the finale. No doubt I was more confused than most.
@ Elly--ahhh, Mahler. Always the perfect choice for life's highs, or to plumb the depths of despair. All of which can be recreated in microcosm onthe trainer.
I mix it up.. but I'm in a condo in a garden stel building... so nothing can be super duper loud...With my shoulder injury last fall folled by hand surgery in Jan I spent much too much time on the drainer (I think in to April or May - when I could actually hold my bike with my left hand)
for early weekday mornings I watch tv (catch up on tivo, etc)... weekend rides (when I was injured, etc) I would usually wait til there's a game or something on and mute that and listen to something loud... or, when that wasn't an option, I'd do a 24 or CSI marathon... I need something to look at other than the face of my Garmin telling me I'm not hitting my HR target.
