Strength/ Core - Week 5
Oh my- I get to start!!
I have been shirking my strength work for cardio. So today I decided to do my push ups, then get on the bike- which turned into 32 minutes of easy riding, then my P90X Ab Ripper. BUT- I skipped 2 of the exercises near the end when running out of time. But I did get in the Mason Twist.
So even though I did A LOT less cardio- I feel like I had a great workout.

Oh Loring Hill, you're still there. This is my old hill-repeat hill that I've been too skeered to hit until today. 4x long hills, run drills, and 4 x 30" strides home. Moved up from 3 to 4 hills and will stay there.
On my way to the gym for upper and lower body strength work. Don't feel like P90X today, so I'll mix it up. Ab Ripper X rounded it out. This is a great workout day!
Okay I did some stuff today. I am gonna call this Urban Running for lack of a better term. Okay with IPOD, you run to the mood of the songs, whatever comes up and also look at the terrain landscape of the city parks.. this is what I did. too wet to ride today and I missed yesterday's run and knew it had some "work" in it.
run and do some drills along the way... see a log and hop up on it with some relaxing music and do some Yoga poses, dance, sun salutation etc.. then hop off and resume running coming up on a bench and do some tricep dips, then kepp on rnning, pace of song picks up and so you run faster! see a hill and charge up and down it.. see some RR ties so climb up on them.. see a rock wall and clamour over them in lieu of lunges, see the curbs and do some hip hikes, continue running, see the pedestrian walk and jump over all the lines! see a cone in the trail and do that swing your leg over it.. keep running, see another bench and do some more tricep dips and then lay on it for some crunches, and double leg lower, run up the steps to the bathroom, run down, see a piece of concrete bunker thing sticking out and run up on it and then down...this was a totally fun fresh workout in lake wind advisory, spitting rain, overcast, and temps in the 70's, high 60's at beginning. do all sorts of high kicks, arms out, big circles if you have to walk, walk up on tippie toes for calves and then only on heels for shins! helps if nobody is out to see you!!! Ran 10 miles.....

One hour Pilates today and a 50' fun. Forgot to lift upper body in the basement. Went down to do laundry, and--poof--it went right out of my head. I'll do it tomorrow.
