IM LP 2011 Hotel

Booked my hotel for IM LP in 2011 today.   Ouch !  Those rates are pretty high.   I don't mind getting gouged a bit, but wow !  I guess that's just the way it goes.   It'll be an AWESOME trip and I am already looking forward to it.

I was surprised when I called the hotel and they said - sure we have rooms.   I booked at the Crowne Plaza - LP.   Looked to be right near the action.   I hope I am correct on it being a good location.

I guess if anyone needed a room you might want to check them out.   Many houses / condos I had checked were booked.

We stayed at the CP for 5 days this year for IMLP and it is ideally located and also very family friendly.  It is a 5 minute walk to Mirror Lake and Expo area.  The walk up the hill that the hotel sits on made me question my level of fitness a few times before the race.   If you have any LP questions let me know.

THanks for the lead Dan. That place looks like a great spot for me to take Joe in 2012. He'll have lots of other cool fun stuff to do while I sit around tapering :-)

 Nemo, you can rent out climber's lodge I believe and it holds a ton of people, with a big kitchen, plenty of bathrooms, and huge fireplace in the middle that you can climb, and it  is beautiful.  If you get enough to go with you, its very cost effective

Thanks Dan. might use that place in the winter for some sau's. wife likes to go climbing and hiking in the adirondacks.
@michael you are pretty close to the action and the restaurants downtown. I stayed there during a training weekend in lp. the walk/bike up the hill to hotel is a royal pain. I remember having to do the hill up , after 2 loops of the bike course urgghh. I would suggest waiting for the shuttle both before and after the race to save your legs.
