KK trainer question

I posted this in the Power and Pace forum too, but thought I could find more info with posting in more than one. Thanks in advance for all info.

I have a KK Road Machine trainer. I also have the extra 12 lb. flywheel. I also am using the powermeter that KK sells for their trainers. My questions are, first, aside from the extra weight training component to the extra flywheel, am I getting added benefits? If not should I not use it? It does make it harder for me to get my RPMs up, about 10 rpms slower than without it. Does that matter?

Also, what can anyone tell me about the accuracy of the KK powermeter, as compared say to a Powertap? I am saving for a Powertap, but don't have it yet. Probably won't until next spring/summer.

All info appreciated.

  • See response in the power and pace forum. It's kinda bad form to post the same question multiple times around these parts, since lots of us just use the not read function. Best to keep replies in one place, too.
  •  Thanks for the comments. As a new member, I am still trying to figure out the site. What is the not read function that you talk about? Also, what is the best place/way to get questions posted to get as many answers/ideas as possible?

  • no problem. at the top of the page, see a link that says "not read" that will show you all posts (in all different forums) that have been updated since you last read them. Scan it, and if there's nothing you want to read, you can hit "mark all read" at the bottom. THen, you just have one place to go back to.

As to getting lots of answers, post a question in one forum, and if there's lots of people with something to say, you'll get them. If not, don't hesitate to bump it a day or two later. Weekend posts have a lower response rate than weekday posts, and Friday tends to be a bit slow, too. The other times that can be a bit slow are the times when there's a big race going on (such as a WTC IM race).

    Good luck!
