Pain in the sacroiliac after vDOT test in racing flats.

I ran my vDOT test in a race with racing flats.  I was faster, but I won't do that again.  I am hurting now.  When I was 35 lbs heavier a couple of years ago, my doctor gave me a shot of kenolog in the right sacroiliac.  Until recently, I've been training pain free.  This feels like a similar pain in my left hip.  It's not going down the back of my leg, but it hurts too much to run now.  Anyone found any exercises that will help loosen up and heal this?  I'm studying the exercises in Chi Running, but there's not much there.  Any help is appreciated.

  • Neill, please head over to www.athletestreatingathletes.com to see what Leigh has put together...
  • Thanks, Patrick. I'll take a look at that for some long-term management. Took a few days off from running, then went back easy. Ran today (my schedule is one day ahead of the Nov OS) with no issues, hit the pace numbers without any residual pain.
