Testing Summarized for Data Tools

I am sure this has been answered hundreds of times, please 1 more time for this newbie?  I have a polar rs800cx for running, Power Tap Pro+, WKO, TrainingPeaks.  yes I am putting it all on TrainingPeaks.

I hate to say this, I just do not see for the running - vDot or Bike - LTHR and FTP for the Bike.  Any help is appreciated.

  • Michael, could you re-phrase your question? I'm not sure what you are asking.
  • I have all this data, from PowerTap and Polar going into WKO and TrainingPeaks,  where is the VDOT and LHTR so I can report this in DataTools?

Here is a summary of what I see with WKO, running and my Polar data:

  • Ah. You won't get your vdot from wko or training peaks. You need to use the EN data tool. You get there from the training menu up top.
  • The V-dot and FTP are testing values that you get from plugging your test numbers into the EN data tool. You do not get daily FTP and V-dots for your workouts from TP and WKO.
  • Michael,
Here is the Data Tool link. http://www.endurancenation.us/en_data/index.php

Ok so now that we have that, did you do your 5k run test? If so take your time for that 5k and enter it into the data tool. Also you can enter your average HR for the 5k as your LTHR. This will then give you your Vdot and training places.

Now did you do your FTP test? You have a Powertap so you will be training with power. After you do your 2 x 20mintues with 2 minute rest in between intervals you will download that data into WKO. After you download the data, highlight the 42 minutes of the test on the graph. The NP, normalized power, that comes from that is your FTP. You enter that into the data tool along with the average HR. This will give you your training zones.
  • I should add that if you click on the "HELP" tab of the data tool, you'll get a breakdown of how to do the tests as well...
