Sleeper Cell Initiative

Over the years, as the team has grown and members have referred their friends to the squad, we have organically formed “Sleeper Cells,” dense pockets of TeamEN athletes in specific geographic locations. For 2011 we will brainstorm ideas, and put cash on the table, to help these cells grow and support themselves, as well as facilitate the creation of additional Sleeper Cells.

    Hey Rich,
    Personally, I think Job One is getting the member map up and going again. The Sleeper Cell phenomenon occurred organically and spontaneously when folks saw that there were other citizens nearby. In the past month or so I've discovered through stuff written in forum posts that there are new Nor Cal peeps about...but it was just luck that I noticed. So my preference/suggestion - put the money and effort into getting us (the troops) the tools we need to self-organize.

    Member map and/or the ability to have the city/state in the information on the left side of the forum. "Rich Strauss, Coach, Veteran member, Monrovia CA", etc.

    Rich - Looking forward to the member map and think that Scott's suggestion that the city and state show up automatically would be great.  Thanks.

    Your City and State are now listed in the forum (if you have filled it out in your profile). That is a nice touch, good recommendation! Also, you can do a search in the members area by State if you wanted to as well. Just type in Texas and you get the Texans. We are working on the map. Stay tuned.

    But seriously, what does one have to do about setting up a sleeper cell. I am not even talking about cash here. I more mean on the site. When I signed up for the Turkey marathon challenge or whatever it is called there were a bunch of sleeper cells but no NY/NJ. I want one. Like yesterday. Can we hook that up?

    @Tucker, I think the best way is to create a group (you can do that) and then start rallying your NJ/NY peeps to sign up for it....then we go from there!!!

    Patrick, do you mean create a group on the site or in the real world?  I have been looking and cannot find where I can create my own group.  Maybe I haven't looked hard enough.  I'll keep on looking though.
