Think I lost my results from power test on bike

Hi power guys/gals. Did my power test on the bike the other day and think I may have deleted the info. Not know what the heck I was doing I ended up pushing the mode/select buttons at the same time and holding it until I saw CLR and now when I go to upload the info, nothing is there.

Will I be redoing my test this week?

  • It's definitely gone. If it were me, I would test again. How else are you going to set a baseline and get your training zones? If you've never tested with power before, there's really no way to guess. Others may have some suggestions.

  • Brenda- I am SCREAMING for you from here. OMG I would never touch another button again:-). Yikes. Next time just dock it to download cradle. Hit one button until host appears. Then download. Never hit both buttons until you are ready to kiss your workout goodbye, as in it is saved on WKO.

While training and you can't get it to pick up watts, you hold both buttons down until you see find and then let go quickly or again you will delete everything if the word clear comes up:-(.

So sorry you lost your data.

  • Okay, so its official. Thankis. Oh well, lesson learned. Not a big fan of learning that way, but that is how it is. Test again it is.
  • Oh Brenda, that SUCKS! Looking on the bright side, maybe you'll do a better job with the next test at pacing it and end up with a more accurate result. You tend to learn how to take these tests after a while- practice makes perfect :-)
  • Brenda,
A small question out of curiousity: what do you *think* your FTP test came out to? Whenever I've completed a FT test, I normally try to take a guess at the result when I'm in the period between test and download ... and it's normally to within 2-3 watts.

If you're going to re-test anyhow, it might be an interesting learning experience to jot down the guesstimate number before test #2, and see where you land.
  • Okay, retest has been done. When I am reading the info, do I use the normalized power as my FTP?
  • Brenda, yes you use the normalized power number for the entire 42 minute (2 x20(2)) test to establish your FTP.

You should enter that number in the Data Tool so the Data Tool can then spit out your bike zone numbers.

  • Thanks Al. Almost sent you a response that asks how to seperate the warm-up from the 42 min ride, but figured that out and got my normalized power.
