Apple customer service

I want to put a good plug in for Apple customer service.  I dropped my iPhone yesterday cracked the screen.  Brought it in today and they replaced it free of charge.  I have had this particular phone since July.  I also may have helped that I had my daughter with me and she is so cute.  Oh and I blamed in on her. I know, not right but it saved me $200.

I had heard they try to help you out and they certainly did.  Come up with a sobstory or a cute kid and maybe you all can save some money too.

  • I love the Apple store. It's a very odd concept, but it works. Who would ever open up a retail store with 20 or so products, all versions of an iPod, iPad, laptop or desktop?

The tech support really understands their customer base as people wanting the end product and could care less about details. If the phone doesn't work, who cares why, just get it to work. Everyone there appears empowered to make decisions on the spot and have the customers best intentions.

I've had a 6 month old phone replaced for free. I've wandered by the store, stopped in to see if they could get a particular function on my phone to work, which they did in a couple of minutes. I've used their one-to-one service to learn their software. Kids tagged along and no one cares.

You can tell people like working there.
  • +1. The customer service with that company has probably saved me $1500 over the last 3-4 years. Glad to hear that you're getting the same!
  • I always rave about apple care and there staff. I little pricey but you get what you pay for.

  • +1. I go back to the FatMac.
  • I'm also a huge fan of apple and their customer service. I had an unfortunate event involving me on my bike and becoming intimately familiar with what the grille of a cadilac escalade feels like. My phone amazing survived and works to this day (ridiculously cracked screen but still works). Apple told me they want my phone so that they can study how the phone absorbed the impact and whatever else. They offered to replace my phone for free but since I already got an iPhone 4, they are just going to give me either a touch, or a gift certificate. They were extremely helpful and I was impressed that they wanted the broken item back to use it to improve future products.
