Did my run test on Wednesday had to work on Turkey day. Results not all that great. Body felt ok but mind not into it. Ran about 30 seconds slower than previous test. Ok with that though I haven't been feeling especially mentally tough on the runs the last few weeks. I think I will retest in a few weeks.
@Mike - I ran the Run to Feed the Hungry race in Sacramento as I was up there visiting family. It was pretty cold and a crazy amount of people. Yes, we will definitely have to find time to meet up. Are you planning on doing any local tris this season? I plan on doing the Morgan Hill sprint and the Silicon Valley International.
@Gary - Don't sweat one test. If this is your first OS, it can take a little while to get into the groove. Keep your eyes on the prize - this is a 20 week program, 20 weeks! And it's the Out Season - most of your competitors at IMTX are either taking an extended break right now, or are plowing themselves under with tons of long slow distance. Trust the program, trust yourself...it will all fall into place by game day.
@David, my 2011 may end up with a tri, but I won't be doing any early season tri races (though both of those are fun races!). Next Saturday I find out if I'll be running the Western States 100, and if I don't get in I'll be running a 6 day stage race. So either way, I'll be done with my A race before July. Maybe I'll try to do Big Kahuna?

@Mike Wow. Ultra marathon is impressive. I was thinking about doing Big Kahuna, but I'm not sure it will fit in with my IMAZ plans. I plan on doing it at some point though.
Okay, I'm a wee bit behind on my testing, but did the run test on Thanksgiving and bike tonight. I'm a bit confused... I ran a faster 5k this time around, but my vdot dropped- time 26:57, avg hr 150, pace 8:25 with vdot 35. Week 1 vdot 36, time 27:07, avg HR 157 pace 8: 30. What am I missing? Week 1 was on treadmill, week 8 on road. I realize it is a small change, but I would think it would go up rather than down? Both tests with Garmin. Any thoughts? I felt like I really pushed myself too!
