How to Enjoy your IM Free Year! or......
Ironman Anonymous, a 12 Step Program
For all of you getting ready to plan an IM Free Year, I thought I'd provide a little guidance on how to make it one of the best years ever!
Step 1. Cross the finish line of an Ironman to be caught by your hubby and coaches after setting a huge PR. See this Race Report for details: http://www.endurancenation.us/en_forums/showthread.php?t=4291
Step 2. Fly home the day after your IM, pack up your house, and move to a new state. That should help, right?
Step 3. Enjoy your Vacation Time with REAL vacations with your hubby!
- Take a few extra days at the “Law Dept Conference” to slip away to do some canyoneering and hiking: http://www.endurancenation.us/en_forums/showpost.php?p=36418&postcount=9
- Take an amazing trip to New Zeland: http://endurancenation.us.dnnmax.com/Community/Forums/tabid/101/aff/34/aft/392/afv/topic/afpgj/1/Default.aspx#5167

Nemo,
This will be my first IM free year in seven years! I am taking notes! What a great way to show how much more there is to life and sport than IM.
Wow! That's some year. Who needs an Ironman with all those accomplishments?
After doing my first IM I'm going to take a fun year like this. Do a couple halves and all the fun races that I didn't get to do because of IM training. If I can pull of a fraction of all the things you did I'll consider it a very successful year.
