Steve ...will run Boston!! Steve's first marathon! He qualified at Kona.
I don't want to hi jack the thread ( it's Greg's year to shine!), but this is SO COOL. (and a secret goal of mine - I've been wondering if BAA will accept an IM marathon time - are the courses certified?)
Hi Al- the race director from Boston announced at IM Hawaii that anyone who qualifies for Boston in their age group with their marathon time in Kona is welcome to the Boston Marathon!! Steve did it!! Needed a 3:35 and ran 3:29!!!
So far I am signed up for the Philadelphia Olympic Distance Relay with my daughters and IM Kona. My oldest daughter will swim, I will bike and the youngest will run. Should be a ton of fun and lifetime memory doing something like that with my girls. Kristin will be on the sidelines cheering. I am signed up for IMLP, however I am going to back out of that to save on finances. That trip is always sooooo expensive and with all 4 of us going to Kona need to save. I may do a half and another olympic possibly, not sure yet.
Greg - I remember when we were at Lake Placid camp together last year talking about how we both hoped to make it to Kona one day. Well, you did it man!! Great perserverance to get to the start line after a tough injury, and great race day execution in tough conidtions! Another example of EN execution putting someone in position at "the line" to dig deep and meet their race day goals - you're an inspiration to those of us chasing the dream! Congrats!

Not sure if this stands for other marathons.
