Joule Issues with Not Charging

Having problems with my Joule taking a charge.  I'll plug into usb jack on computer and it'll connect, download data, etc... all normally and also display it is charging.  Then I come back later and it says charging complete, but when I unplug it only shows about 2 bar on the little power or battery indicator.  When I begin rides it will now only last about 10 minutes and then goes out saying battery low.

Me need my Joule,  I've come to love having NP and TSS oon display.  Anyone hear of issues and what to do?

For now I have my Garmin 705 that luckily I haven't sold yet.

Thanks for any input or help.

  • You can charge it with the Garmin charger too. Just plug the USB end into the bottom of the Garmin charger (assuming same charging system as the 305). Could also be the battery. I never changed mine but is apparently easy to do.
  •  I was having some issues like that too.  Ordered a new batt and the charger however before they arrived I opened up the back and noticed that the battery plug had slipped partially out.  Pushed then in and it started charging better.

Anyone losing the occasional workout?  I come back from a ride save it and then when I go to download nothing.....Only happens occasionally but I have started making sure I know my TSS and ave watts when I save.

  • Interesting issue, guys. I haven't had either of those problems exactly. However, I DO notice that the Joule sill say it's all charged, and then 5 minutes into the workout, it'll drop to 2 bars... then, a few minutes later it says it has 3 bars. Never seems to quit on me, but it never seems to have a "full charge" either.
  • Fellas,

The guys at Sawris say it is the issue with the battery or battery cable unplugging. I unplugged then plugged back in and no issues since. I still said I wasn't comfortable with that just being it and they are send me a new battery and cord. So I'd keep a watch on it as it may be an issue with the cord being to loose. At least they are acknowledging they have the issue.
